Music

There seems to be three standards by which a band or artist is validated, talent, creativity and honesty or integrity. Talent exhibited through the playing of their own instruments and writing their own tracks. The importance of this is derived from the idea that there is a 'truth' or honesty that is allowed for by the investment of personal experience into the artists music. But what is this truth really? Their truth is redundant. The meaningless mewling of some trendy instils nothing but resentment for their self pitying, what use is the moaning of some idiot who is stuck in an adolescent perspective on life's details. Truth does not equate to inspiration. The facts of life are unique snow flakes, but the snow flake is unique only in the imperceptible minute details, and those details are destined to be lost into the mass of snow already lining the pavement. These nuances that have been praised so dearly are nothing more than glorious irrelevances. So, in the absence of any substance in the truths that are portrayed in a artists music, the honesty of their music is void, and likewise the uniqueness of a song is minimal and slight. This leaves the artists with little more than the ability to play the instruments they have chosen, relegating them to little more than redundant music teachers.
